How does it work

Your device makes a speedy and secure connection from the internet to our first relay, the hub, which sits close to you, run by IOVPN. The connection is authenticated via a technique called RSA Signatures, which allows you access without having to transmit a username, password, or any account details at all. You could still be identified by your IP address, so the hub replaces it with an approximate geographical region you chose.

Your IP is translated to a private IP that the second relay in your selected region knows what youre doing, but nothing about who you are. The second relay passes something to the website youre trying to visit, to ensure it can display localized content.

This approach allows websites to have enough of an idea of your location to display relevant content, but not to identify you. The IP address they see changes when you select a new region, and your real IP is never revealed. All they know is the connection was made via the second relay, so they pass their content back in an encrypted form to that address, and its routed back to the hub, and then to you.

Unlike old-school VPN, technology used for more than 20 years, a single server serves all your network traffic. The website can lock and identify this single server. In addition, every change of location may disclose your true IP to the websites.
